Accounting Specialist

The OpportunityWe're looking for a detail-oriented and personable Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting team. This role is a blend of accounting and customer service — you'll keep our financials accurate and running smoothly while also being a friendly, knowledgeable resource for tenants and vendors. No two days look exactly the same, and that's what makes it great.
What You'll Do
- Process accounts payable across multiple entities — coding, reconciling, and managing payments with accuracy and timeliness
- Handle accounts receivable for residential and self-storage properties, including rent charges, aging reports, and delinquency follow-up
- Manage invoice workflows in AvidXchange and upload to AppFolio
- Post daily cash receipts in AppFolio and Rent Manager and make bank deposits
- Prepare year-end 1099s and process employee expense reimbursements
- Support monthly closing activities, GL reconciliations, and budget entry
- Serve as a front-line resource for tenants and vendors — answering questions, resolving issues, and providing excellent customer service
- Assist with front desk and phones when customer service team needs backup
What We're Looking For
- 2–3 years of accounting experience (AP/AR experience strongly preferred)
- Solid general accounting knowledge; familiarity with GAAP a plus
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Strong communication skills — you'll work with vendors, tenants, and teammates daily
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and quick to learn new software
- A team player who can also work independently and manage competing priorities
- An associate degree is preferred, but the right experience matters more to us

- On-site position (Issaquah, WA)
