The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, supervise and mentor accounting staff, and support corporate accounting, financial reporting, and the development and enforcement of internal control policies and procedures. Jobot has partnered with a well-established construction company in the Houston area to identify an Accounting Supervisor to join their growing finance team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys owning the general ledger, driving month-end close, and improving processes along the way.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial dataLead and manage the month-end and year-end close processPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statementsSupervise, mentor, and review the work of accounting staffIdentify opportunities for process and procedure improvements within the accounting functionAssist with the design and implementation of internal controls and standardized workflowsSupport external audit requests and ensure compliance with GAAPCollaborate with FP&A and senior finance leadership on reporting and process initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including construction, real estate, or project-based industriesPrior supervisory or team lead experience preferredStrong understanding of GL accounting and month-end close processesDemonstrated experience driving process/procedure improvementsCPA a plus, not requiredStrong Excel skills; ERP/construction accounting software experience a plus
