For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the Environmental Protection Agency through the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program.

Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium for positions budgeted at 60+ hours per pay period, Accrued Vacation and Sick Leave, Paid Federal Holidays, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available for positions budgeted at 35+ hours per pay period.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in accounting, banking, bookkeeping, or finance OR BA/BS Degree in Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 8 semester hours in accounting

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS OneDrive, Adobe, Copying Machine, Multiple Phone Lines, Scanner
  • MS Office Suite
Duties:

Utilize standard accounting procedures and a variety of software programs (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Access, Power BI) and Agency financial databases) to support GLNPO on tasks including budget analysis, review of non-federal sponsor cost share progress reports and expenditures. Assist in tracking unliquidated obligations, support review of financial close-out activities. Incumbent will interact with Great Lakes Legacy Act (GLLA) Program nonfederal sponsors.

  • Support Great Lakes Restoration Initiative GLLA non-federal sponsor cost share reconciliation to close out completed projects and track active projects. Review quarterly and final reports, and track progress in SharePoint, Excel and other tools.   40%
  • Work with GLNPO Project Agreement Team to resolve disputed items related to GLLA non-federal sponsor cost share reconciliation   10%
  • Update and maintain GLLA Project Closeout flow and performance boards   10%
  • Assist in tracking unliquidated obligations, review of commitment actions, and financial reserves tracking   20%
  • Work with GLNPO Project Agreement Team to ensure receipts and financial documentation are complete   20%
