What is this career opportunity?

The Risk Management and Tort Defense Division is looking for an Accounting Technician who will also serve as administrative support for our risk management staff. The position performs a variety of essential accounting responsibilities including processing accounts payable and receivable, and generating reports, for the claims, insurance, finance, and loss control staff. The position also provides administrative support for division staff in opening mail, assigning claims, receiving incoming phone calls, and preparing correspondence for the Division Administrator. What are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent plus two years' related experience or education. Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Competencies:

To be successful in this position you will need the ability to:

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivables transactions using a large accounting software system

  • Plan, organize, gather information, and conduct research

  • Examine and interpret data prior to processing work assignments

  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail

  • Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing

  • Set priorities and manage time effectively

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
