Accounts Payable Supervisor

Position Scope

The Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor is responsible for processing and recording the financial transactions for money a company owes to its vendors and suppliers. This role involves verifying invoices, ensuring payments are made on time to maintain good vendor relationships, and performing data entry to keep financial records complete

Location & Travel: This position is onsite at our office in Fargo, ND.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor high volume of inquiries regarding the status and other payment information
• Correspond with vendors, respond to inquiries, and produce monthly reports
• Assist with month end close
• Reconcile monthly statements to ensure all outstanding invoices have been received and entered
• Work closely with employees on invoice entries and approvals
• Assist within other areas of the Accounting Department
• Showcase excellent customer service for both internal and external customers
• Ensure accuracy of accounts payable related to general ledger accounts
• Adhere to tax regulations, such as sales/use tax and 1099 reporting requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Assist with accounts receivable billings
• Creating and approving weekly payment runs
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other related field preferred
• Minimum 3+ years of accounts payable experience and general accounting knowledge
• Prior experience in a supervisory position preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as Spectrum, Viewpoint, or similar systems preferred.

• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work with financial data are important. 
• Strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
• Maintain an organized paper and electronic filing system
• Advanced Excel skills
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality

• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently to establish and manage work priorities, activities, and timelines to achieve results
• Ability to review, summarize, and report findings and recommendations
