Accounts Receivable Accountant - [Washington, DC]
Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a local organization in the search for an Accounts Receivable Accountant to support the organization's invoicing, cash application, and receivables processes. This role will work closely with program and finance teams to ensure accurate recording of cash receipts, timely invoicing, and proper management of open receivables, while also assisting with month-end close, reconciliations, and audits. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on AR experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage cash application activities by coordinating with program staff to identify incoming payments and accurately apply receipts
- Record cash receipts in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Review, approve, and prepare grant and contract invoices, including reimbursement-based billing
- Process foreign currency accounts receivable adjustments related to grants and contracts
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records to ensure aging reports are current, uncollectible balances are properly accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are resolved
- Coordinate with program and internal stakeholders to research and resolve overdue receivables
- Perform accounts receivable analysis and reporting as requested by the management team
- Maintain hedge contract records and related documentation within the accounting system
- Assist with revenue-related month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support internal and external audits by preparing AR schedules, documentation, and reconciliations
- Ensure organized and compliant AR records to support internal controls and financial reporting requirements
