Job Description

THIS IS A 3rd SHIFT POSITION

SUMMARY

Supports production of ACCRA hot forming lines from a technical standpoint. Focus on robotic manufacturing equipment at ovens, press, and plasma cells including all preventative maintenance programs by performing the following duties within an automotive environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports Production Operations.
  • Troubleshoot robotic programs and modify/adjust as needed.
  • Create robotic programs from scratch as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various types of electrical controls, drives, communications, wiring, robot paths etc.
  • Ability to comprehend PLC logic and its relationship to the robot's programming.
  • Ability to comprehend field devices such as vision systems, fieldbus systems, safety components, and their relationships to the PLC and robots.
  • Assist technical services in machine repair, change over, set up and operation as required.
  • Effectively train, coach and mentor other Technicians to improve their skills.
  • Perform all preventative maintenance requirements as scheduled.
  • Have mechanical aptitude that compliments electrical capabilities.
  • Ability to schedule time, materials and equipment required to perform tasks, and to properly use and complete required documentation.
  • Assist in keeping a spare parts inventory.
  • Have a professional customer service attitude and ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added when necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED, and 5 years experience.in automotive environment preferred.

Working knowledge of the following:

  • ROBOTS

  • ABB Robots (S4C & IRC5 Controllers)

  • Motoman Robots (NX100, DX100, & DX200 Controllers)

  • Minimal Fanuc and Kuka

  • PLC's

  • Allen Bradley PLC's and Studio 5000 Programming Software

  • DRIVES

  • Allen Bradley Power Flex

  • Indramat

  • Ormec

  • Quantum III

  • Communication Protocols

  • EtherNet/IP

  • Profibus

  • DeviceNet

  • Welding

  • MIG

  • RESISTANCE

  • HFI

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportion to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, schedule form. Ability to work without close supervision.

The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may occasionally be required to perform repetitive work tasks.

The associate may need to be available during off hours if needed and assist in emergency situations. The associate must have the flexibility to work various shift hours and/or extended hours if needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate frequently works near moving parts. The associate is frequently exposed to electromagnetic fields, risk of electric shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and Associate may be subject to temperature extremes for extended periods of time.
