Job Description

Hive Group is seeking an Acquisition Quality Assurance Specialist to join our existing team providing quality reviews of contract files, identifying best practices, and providing recommendations for standardized operations across the organization. The Acquisition Quality Specialist will work closely with the senior members of the Quality Review Team (QRT), Acquisition and Governance stakeholders, and Business Unit Leadership to support enterprise-wide acquisition quality and oversight activities, including contract file reviews, risk analysis, trend identification, and development of recommendations to improve acquisition processes and consistency across the organization.

This role supports a fast-paced environment requiring analytical thinking, attention to detail, collaboration, and the ability to translate acquisition policy and guidance into practical application.

This position is a hybrid position, with the requirement to report onsite 1 day per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct acquisition quality reviews and assessments of Electronic Contract Files (ECFs) to evaluate compliance, consistency, documentation quality, and overall acquisition effectiveness.
  • Engage with Acquisition & Governance (A&G) leadership to support quality assurance objectives, organizational priorities, and ensure acquisition activities are executed in accordance with applicable requirements and quality standards.
  • Provide responsive support to A&G leadership through targeted acquisition reviews, priority assessments, executive-level reporting, and recommendations that enhance operational effectiveness, standardization, and procurement quality outcomes.
  • Perform detailed analysis of complex procurement packages, including contract documentation exceeding 100 pages, ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with acquisition guidance.
  • Operate independently with minimal oversight while managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high-quality review standards.
  • Provide strategic, value-added recommendations to strengthen procurement package quality and improve readiness for executive, legal, and policy review.
  • Identify procurement risks, compliance gaps, ambiguous language, and documentation deficiencies within acquisition packages and develop recommendations to strengthen acquisition quality and reduce risk exposure.
  • Apply knowledge of the Federal procurement lifecycle to assess acquisition documentation from planning through award and post-award activities.
  • Identify recurring risks, trends, systemic issues, and opportunities for process improvement across acquisition operations and develop actionable recommendations for leadership and acquisition teams.
  • Monitor and assess regulatory, policy, and procedural changes impacting acquisition operations and advise stakeholders on implementation impacts and required updates.
  • Advise government clients regarding acquisition template enhancements, standardization efforts, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Incorporate evolving client policies, acquisition guidance, and regulatory updates into quality review processes and documentation standards.
  • Educate and advise acquisition workforce personnel on best practices, documentation quality expectations, and strategies to strengthen procurement package development.
  • Support ad hoc acquisition assessments, data calls, audits, and enterprise reporting requirements in support of organizational priorities and leadership requests.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze quality metrics, trend reporting, dashboards, and summary reports to support data-driven decision-making and continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate with acquisition teams and stakeholders to improve standardization, strengthen audit readiness, and enhance acquisition quality practices
  • Support development and refinement of acquisition templates, tools, checklists, and process documentation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Google Workspace applications, including Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, and related collaboration tools, to support reporting, analysis, and documentation activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years experience in a direct federal contract support role (Contract Specialist, Acquisition Contract Manager, Procurement Analyst, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience reviewing procurement documentation, identifying risks, and developing process improvement recommendations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with acquisition teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, including reporting and data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting acquisition quality reviews, procurement oversight activities, Federal contract audits, Procurement Management Reviews (PMRs), or audit readiness initiatives preferred.
