Description

The Transition Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of enterprise IT transition activities to ensure uninterrupted services and full operational capability at the conclusion of the transition period. This role ensures seamless knowledge transfer, validated system configurations, operational readiness, and compliance with federal governance and security requirements.

Location: Rockville, MD

Salary: 155,000-195,000

Clearance: Secret or L Clearance

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the Transition Management Plan coordinating staffing, knowledge transfer, asset validation, configuration baseline review, and operational readiness activities across infrastructure, network, Microsoft 365, Identity and Access Management, cybersecurity, monitoring, and cloud support functions while ensuring no degradation of SLA performance during the transition period
  • Direct and oversee validation of operational control of enterprise systems including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 tenant services, VMware virtual infrastructure, WAN/MPLS connectivity, enterprise storage platforms, backup and recovery operations, ITSM workflows, and SIEM integrations to confirm configuration accuracy and service continuity prior to steady-state acceptance
  • Serve as primary executive transition authority with customer stakeholders and contracting representatives to provide transition status briefings, risk and issue updates, mitigation plans, and readiness documentation supporting formal acceptance of full operational capability
  • Oversee validation of cybersecurity control implementation alignment with applicable industry and federal security frameworks, ensuring privileged access controls, patch compliance posture, vulnerability remediation tracking, and monitoring coverage are fully documented and audit-ready
  • Produce transition status reports, configuration validation documentation, risk logs, knowledge transfer artifacts, and operational readiness certification packages for stakeholder review and approval

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree; 12+ years relevant experience; experience managing lifecycle of complex technology infrastructure projects; oversee planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out; coordinate multidisciplinary teams; develop and oversee roadmap implementation; provide innovative solutions supporting enterprise objectives.

Masters + 10yrs, or Associates +14yrs of relevant experience may be substituted.

  • Experience managing enterprise IT operations programs supporting 24x7 environments
  • Knowledge of SLA performance tracking, risk management frameworks, and executive reporting methodologies
  • Experience overseeing ITSM performance reporting and service management analytics frameworks
  • Experience overseeing compliance with cybersecurity directives and vulnerability remediation processes
  • Knowledge of federal cloud adoption strategies and ICAM modernization initiatives
  • Required Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional);

Preferred Certificaiton: ITIL 4 Managing Professional
