Job Description

All positions and services now fall under the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health as we move forward in serving individuals, families, and communities across the state.
What you'll do at DBH:
Primary work area is the Treatment Mall with some work on units
Observes and monitors activities of patients during leisure team, program time, and patients and their significant others/friends during visitation.
Assists higher-level group program providers in implementation of their programs.
Escorts patients to & from activities or to their units; maintains patient attendance for general activities and/or leisure times
Tracks Level II's while in the treatment mall and makes observations to complete treatment mall safety rounds.
Judiciously communicates to unit staff regarding patient's status in the treatment mall.
Attends staff meetings to provide input concerning patient participation and observations.
Performs various work-related miscellaneous tasks which includes but is not limited to: maintaining program equipment & supplies; submitting work orders; set up/taking down equipment as needed for various functions; inspecting work areas for safe & sanitary conditions
This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of #4 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Sunday- Thursday, 8:00am- 4:30pm. This position is located within our Heartland Behavioral Healthcare at 3000 Erie Street South, Massillon, OH 44646.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
Position Qualifications
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
