Activities Director – Residential Care Community

Plan, organize, and coordinate recreational, social, and engaging activities for residents in a residential care setting. Develop monthly activity calendars and arrange games, crafts, outings, holiday celebrations, exercise activities, entertainment, and special events based on residents’ interests and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and maintain a monthly resident activity calendar.
• Organize games, crafts, music, bingo, exercise, movie nights, parties, and other recreational activities.
• Coordinate and supervise resident outings and community events.
• Encourage resident participation and provide activities appropriate for different abilities and interests.
• Communicate with residents to identify activity preferences and address concerns.
• Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, birthdays, and family activities.
• Work with facility staff to ensure residents are safely assisted to and from activities.
• Maintain activity supplies and keep activity areas clean and organized.
• Document resident participation and maintain required activity records.
• Communicate schedule changes and upcoming activities with residents, families, and staff.
• Assist with dining, kitchen, or resident needs when necessary.
• Promote socialization, independence, engagement, and overall quality of life for residents.
• Follow facility policies, resident rights, confidentiality requirements, and applicable residential care regulations.
• Maintain dependable attendance to ensure scheduled activities and outings are completed.
