Job Description
Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN)Join our prestigious team at a top-tier Level II Trauma Center in Topeka, Kansas, and play a vital role in delivering exceptional acute care to patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We are seeking dedicated, experienced Acute Care RNs to join a newly established department specializing in Admissions Pending Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a renowned facility while advancing your nursing career.What You Will Do:
- Provide high-quality acute care and patient management during 12-hour night shifts (7 p.m. 7 a.m.)
- Support the emergency admissions process and ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care
- Float to other units as needed, ensuring flexibility and broad clinical experience
- Maintain compliance with all required certifications and hospital protocols
- Active RN license in good standing
- Proven experience in an acute care or hospital setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (TNCC certification required if past a year)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and potentially floating to different units
- Must be a dependable, team-oriented professional with a demonstrated ability to excel under pressure
- Previous experience in trauma or level II trauma centers
- Familiarity with emergency and trauma protocols
- Additional certifications or specialized training in emergency or critical care
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in acute or emergency care settings
- Prior travel nursing experience considered a plus
- Must be able to commit to a 13-26 week assignment; full 26-week preferred
- Must be willing to work 36 hours per week on night shifts
- Weeknight, holiday, and potential float responsibilities required
- Valid certifications and any additional licensure required for practice in Kansas
