Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN)Join our prestigious team at a top-tier Level II Trauma Center in Topeka, Kansas, and play a vital role in delivering exceptional acute care to patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We are seeking dedicated, experienced Acute Care RNs to join a newly established department specializing in Admissions Pending Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a renowned facility while advancing your nursing career.What You Will Do:

• Provide high-quality acute care and patient management during 12-hour night shifts (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.)
• Support the emergency admissions process and ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care
• Float to other units as needed, ensuring flexibility and broad clinical experience
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications and hospital protocols

Required Skills:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Proven experience in an acute care or hospital setting
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (TNCC certification required if past a year)
• Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and potentially floating to different units
• Must be a dependable, team-oriented professional with a demonstrated ability to excel under pressure

Nice to Have Skills:

• Previous experience in trauma or level II trauma centers
• Familiarity with emergency and trauma protocols
• Additional certifications or specialized training in emergency or critical care

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in acute or emergency care settings
• Prior travel nursing experience considered a plus

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to commit to a 13-26 week assignment; full 26-week preferred
• Must be willing to work 36 hours per week on night shifts
• Weeknight, holiday, and potential float responsibilities required
• Valid certifications and any additional licensure required for practice in Kansas
