About the Role

Hello, Adaptive Physical Education Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher for a school-based position in Concord, NC for the 2026–2027 School Year. In this role, you'll provide individualized physical education instruction to students with disabilities, helping them develop motor skills, physical fitness, and confidence while supporting their participation in the school environment. This opportunity is ideal for both experienced APE teachers and educators new to the specialty.

What You'll Do

• Provide adapted physical education services to students with disabilities

• Develop and implement individualized physical education plans

• Assess student motor skills and monitor progress

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student success

• Maintain documentation and participate in IEP meetings, as appropriate

What We're Looking For

• Valid North Carolina Educator License with NCDPI Adaptive Curriculum licensure (or eligibility to obtain)

• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

• School-based experience preferred, but not required
