Summary
Provides children and adults of all levels of ability the opportunity to live active, healthy lives through participation in a variety of adaptive sports and recreational activities. A variety of land and water activities are offered in both individual and group settings. Will help choose activities and make adaptations to meet the capabilities and goals of each individual.

Essential Functions
Under the direction of the Regional Coordinator, assists operationally and programmatically with adaptive sport and recreation programs for participants of all ages and functional abilities.
- Reviews participant intakes to determine program/participant equipment needs. Communicate with staff and participants directly as needed for required information.
- Prepares, monitors, and maintains facilities and equipment for programs, including setup and clean up, ensuring facility and equipment are left in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such issues.
- Responds to participants' questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?

Licenses and Credentials Required:
- Valid driver's license with no driving violations
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid, CPR, AED
Prior experience working with people with disabilities 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of adaptive sport basics and ability to gain an understanding of SASC programming.
- Ability to attain working knowledge of adaptive sports equipment.
- Ability to work with participants of all ages and abilities from pediatric to geriatric.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to work with a diverse population.
- Work independently, be self-directed, and contribute as a member of a team.
- High level of quality service delivery.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate initiative with the ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing situations.
- Promote and maintain safe sporting environment while assessing changing variables throughout the activities
