Job Description
Deliver the online 7-week asynchronous "Language Assessment" course and interact with 12-20 students enrolled in the course. Learners are aiming to teach world languages in a wide variety of instructional contexts - primary schools, secondary schools, community colleges, adult schools, Saturday schools, and private online instruction. This role involves giving substantial, personalized feedback to learners on all assignments, drawing on personal experiences and professional knowledge related to Language Assessment. Instructors should be familiar with Integrated Performance Assessments, in addition to a wide range of traditional and alternative language assessments for classroom contexts. The course is already built, but you will be responsible to personalize the instruction and provide feedback on discussion boards, smaller assignments, and larger assessment projects submitted in the course.
Pay:
The total compensation for delivering this course is $8000.
Core Responsibilities:
- Record and post a short video introduction to each module, including your relationship to the content and describing the learning goals for the module
- Respond to student input on Canvas in a thoughtful, thorough and timely manner
- Assess student performances in a way which cultivates their knowledge, skills and dispositions related to the subject matter
- Availability for virtual office hours with students who want to engage with the instructor in real time
- Calculate a grade for the course for students on an ongoing basis, and enters the final grade for the course into Banner
- Familiarity with ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, Integrated Performance Assessments
