Job Description
The School of Nursing in the College of Health and Natural Sciences of Spalding University, Louisville, Kentucky, established in 1933 and the oldest baccalaureate-nursing program in Kentucky, is currently accepting applications for Adjunct Nursing Faculty (classroom and clinical). Responsibilities include preparation and teaching didactic and/or clinical courses, assessment and evaluation of students through various modalities (quizzes, exams, skills check-offs or clinical assessments). This is an adjunct, contract non-tenure track appointment. The BSN and MSN Programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The position will vary by course and program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the policies and procedures contained in the Spalding University Faculty Governance Document, Bylaws of the Faculty Organization of the School of Nursing, and the Policies and Procedures of the School of Nursing, the following duties and responsibilities are assigned to School of Nursing Faculty:
- Classroom and clinical teaching with a commitment to academic excellence.
- Scholarly activities and university, professional and community service, as able.
- Utilization of technology to include web-based/enhanced courses and the use of a variety of other technological strategies, i.e., web-based and/or device apps with specific programs for undergraduate, graduate students and clinical simulation.
- Develop, implement, manage and monitor the academic progress of nursing students within assigned course(s);
- Participate, as appropriate, in departmental or program meetings;
- Participate, as able, in continuing faculty development programs.
