Sacred Heart University's Economics Department in the Welch College of Business & Technology invites applications for Adjunct Instructors committed to engaging students in the study of economic theory, global economic trends, and business decision-making.Sacred Heart's economics programs bring economic theory to life through practical business applications and the examination of current global issues. Adjunct instructors have the opportunity to bring their academic and professional expertise into the classroom while helping students develop the analytical and problem-solving skills needed to evaluate complex economic issues and understand how markets, public policy, and global forces influence business decisions.Current undergraduate offerings include:

Bachelor of Science in Business EconomicsMinor in Economics

Responsibilities:

Teach assigned undergraduate economics courses in accordance with established course objectives and academic standardsCreate an engaging and supportive learning environmentProvide students with timely feedback and maintain regular communication throughout the courseCollaborate with the department chair and faculty as appropriateFulfill all responsibilities associated with the assigned course

Requirements:

A minimum of a master's degree in economics or a closely related fieldA terminal degree is preferredPrior college-level teaching experience is preferredStrong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skillsCommitment to fostering a collegial and supportive environment in which all members of the University community can thrive and succeed
