Job Title: Adjunct Teaching- Department of Art- ART 240

Position Start Date: August 1, 2026
Required Degree: Minimum BA/BFA degree required; Terminal degree (MFA or equivalent) preferred.
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience:
Minimum one year of university-level teaching in Art, or at least one year of professional work as a graphic designer, or equivalent, closely related professional experience.
Duties/Expectations:
- Teach ART 240: Print and Web Design for Studio Artists
- This course is an introduction to web and print design for art majors. This course builds on art students' studio art training and provides a broad introduction to the methods, concepts, and tools of web and print design that students can apply in studio art making, in promoting their work and careers, and in professional contexts. Students will implement the steps that guide a designer to effective solutions, will apply compositional skills to design problems, and will learn and apply fundamentals of 2D design such as grid systems and the basics of typography.
- The course may be taught during the day or in the evening. Final scheduling will consider candidate's availability and/or other professional commitments.
- Adjunct faculty will use department-approved syllabi and materials for the courses, and will mentor the students in their class(es).
- In addition to teaching the courses assigned, adjunct faculty are expected to attend department training meetings.
