Administrative Assistant to Director and Board of Education
Responsible to: Director of SchoolsBoard Chairman
• Qualifications:• 1. High school diploma or combination of education, training and experience in office• management.• 2. Extensive knowledge of the operation and function of the various school system• departments and offices, with the ability to communicate with administrators and School• Board members.• 3. Knowledge of the organization, operation, program and goals of the district. Knowledge• of federal, State and District rules, regulations and policies.• 4. Ability to deal effectively and graciously with the public.• 5. Demonstrated ability in educational marketing, communications and community relations• activities.• 6. Knowledge of current computing technologies and software applications appropriate to• the position's job responsibilities.• Essential Responsibilities:• 1. Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Schools and Board Chairman• 2. Maintains calendar in coordination with Director of Schools• 3. Attends applicable state meetings at the request of the Director of Schools and Board• Chairman• 4. Receives/screens/directs calls for Director of Schools and Board Chairman and assist• callers if possible before routing• 5. Performs general clerical duties for Board Chairman• 6. Develops and publishes information packets for board meetings• 7. Duplicates, prepares and distributes materials for each school, principal, supervisor• and/or central office staff as requested and/or authorized by the Director of
• Schools and Board Chairman• 8. Maintains policy manual; meets regularly with policy committee.• 9. Provides adequate notice of board meetings to media, schools and related organizations• 10. Prepare agendas for Board Meetings
