Job Description
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Child Support Services Division.
The Administrative Support Supervisor oversees all administrative functions that ensure the regional office operates efficiently. This role manages case intake, assignment, and data accuracy while coordinating office operations such as equipment maintenance, supply management, mail processing, and vendor communication. The position also provides leadership to administrative staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and addressing employee concerns. Additionally, the supervisor supports the regional manager with data and special projects, assists customers, and ensures timely processing of payments and case file transfers.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Knowledge of general office procedures and concepts related to administrative and clerical activities.
Knowledge of supervisory principals necessary to develop, plan, organize and prioritize performance goals for the administrative team.
Knowledge of the internet, computer functions, system capabilities, information access formats, accounting software and document generation.
Leadership skills in areas of personnel, delegation, negotiation, decision making, working under pressure and team building.
Training skills as they relate to developing training outlines and effective presentation techniques.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Two years of college or vocational training in business administration, paralegal studies, accounting, computer science, office technology, legal secretary or directly related field.
One year of supervisory experience.
One to two years of directly related work experience.
Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Additional Information
This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2026.
