Position Summary
The Permanency Specialist works in a collaborative manner to build relationships with families and others in the home and the community to assure that the needs of designated children and their families are respectfully and adequately addressed. In each case, the Permanency Specialist will assure that services to children and families are individualized, strengths and needs based, culturally sensitive, responsive, and goal driven. The candidate must have flexibility to work a nontraditional schedule in a high-demand work situation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Use diagnostic tools to assess risk, provide clinical direction, and develop a service plan with the family.
- Plan and hold discussions with the County or International agency, and family members, to develop an ISP and crisis plan for each child and family.
- Deliver and document all services outlined in service plan/ISP
- Develop positive working relationships with families, stakeholders, team members, supervisor, and support staff.
- Actively participate in individual/group supervision, staff meetings, and professional trainings to foster ongoing professional growth.
Qualifications
- Clearances. State Police; FBI clearance; child abuse clearance; CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training; any additional background checks/clearances required by state governing bodies.
- Valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field.
- Requires at least (1) year of supervised experience working with children
Working Conditions
- Physical Demands. Requires vision, speech, and hearing and a moderate level of physical activity including; sitting, standing, walking lifting and carrying as required.
- Environmental Factors. Indoors/Outdoors: school, home, community
- Working Hours. Non-traditional hours as determined by service needs.
