StatementofPrimaryPurpose

TeachAdultBasicEdclasses.

EssentialFunctionsandResponsibilities

· Plan and deliver age-appropriate, developmentally appropriate, and engaginglessonsfocusedonreal-worldtopicssuchasindependentliving skills, employment preparation, money and time management, communication, social skills, community navigation, health and wellness and fundamental academics.

· Adaptteachingmethods,materialsandpacingtomeetdiverselearning needs of students, including using visuals, hands-on activities, and community-based instruction.

· Demonstratepatience,empathy,flexibility,andenthusiasmforworkingwith adults with differing abilities

· Maintainaccuraterecordsforeachcoursetaught. Assist in student retention and recruitment.

· Submit all college reports in an accurate timely fashion. Attendinstructoranddepartmentalmeetingsasscheduled.

· Beresponsibleforprofessionaldevelopmentandmaintainingprofessional competence.

· Establishandmaintaineffectiveworkingrelationshipswithstudents,faculty,staff, community organizations and others.

MinimumQualifications Education

Bachelor'sdegreerequired.

KnowledgeandSkills

· Abilitytousecomputersandsoftwaretosupportinstructionandmaintaincollege records and reports required.

· Priorteachingexperienceofadultstudentsofdifferingabilitiespreferred.

· Aworkingknowledgeofteachingadultsanddevelopmentaleducation philosophy, as well as current teaching methods are preferred.
