Our Vocational Training Center is seeking an experienced HVAC Instructor to inspire, train, and prepare adult learners for successful careers in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry.

Position Summary

The HVAC Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality technical instruction to adult learners enrolled in the Vocational Training Center. This position provides classroom, laboratory, and hands-on training in residential and commercial HVAC systems while promoting student success, workforce readiness, and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate is an experienced HVAC professional who can effectively communicate technical concepts, maintain a safe learning environment, and motivate students to achieve their educational and career goals.

What You'll Do

Instruction & Student Development

  • Teach HVAC principles, practices, and procedures through classroom and hands-on instruction.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards and industry requirements.
  • Demonstrate proper installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, practical exercises, tests, and projects.
  • Provide individualized coaching and support to help students succeed.

Classroom & Program Management

  • Create and maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment.
  • Enforce classroom rules, safety protocols, and agency policies.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student progress records.
  • Prepare instructional materials, training aids, and classroom equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain training tools, supplies, and equipment inventories.

Workforce Preparation

  • Prepare students for employment in the HVAC industry.
  • Assist students in developing workplace professionalism and technical competency.
  • Support job placement efforts and connect students with employment opportunities.
  • Incorporate industry trends, standards, and best practices into instruction.

Collaboration & Professional Excellence

  • Work closely with staff, administrators, and community partners.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training events.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students.
  • Contribute to a culture of respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
