Base Pay Range: $100,698 - $142,068

Position Summary

The Advanced Applications Engineer plays a key role in supporting the Banner sales team by creating customer solutions across a broad portfolio of Banner products, while serving as a subject matter expert in an assigned product area. This position is responsible for providing advanced technical support, application guidance, and solution development to meet customer needs and support company goals.

The Advanced Applications Engineer works closely with internal and external sales teams, engineering, and business units to ensure customer applications are successful. The ideal candidate brings strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to balance broad product support with deep technical expertise in a focused domain. Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert in an assigned product areas while providing general applications support across the Banner product portfolio.
• Provide detailed technical consultation, pre-sales feasibility and service to Banner Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, distributors and customers.
• Managing and prioritizing multiple channels of communication including phone, email, chat, and direct sales team inquiries, ensuring consistent, responsive technical service.
• Collaborating with Engineering staff to develop technical modifications to existing products to meet unique application requirements.
• Conduct final testing of product hardware, software, and user experience simulations prior to release.
• Review technical publications and training materials for accuracy and content effectiveness.
• Document and relay field application insights to support product development and continuous improvement.
• Assisting with product training for internal and external audiences, both in-person and remotely.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of experience in applications engineering
• Experience working in an industrial automation environment
• Customer-facing or technical support experience

Preferred

• Knowledge of wireless, vision, safety, photoelectric, measurement & inspection, and lighting products.
• Ability to develop and maintain deep technical expertise in a focused product area while supporting a broad range of automation products.
• Industrial automation controls including networking and industrial communication.
• Developing in Python, C, and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, PTC) and web APIs.
• Experience delivering product training.
• Technical knowledge of electronics & PLC's.
• Experience using Office 365, Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Salesforce CRM preferred.
