Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (APP)/(PA/NP/APRN)/Department of Psychiatry/Community Population and Public Mental Health/Instructor - Senior Instructor of Clinical Practice

Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position at the Auraria Campus will provide comprehensive initial evaluations for staff/faculty/students with psychiatric or substance abuse diagnosis. This position will be located on the Auraria Campus, Denver Colorado.

The Clinical setting is typical of a busy Family Practice medical office that includes psychiatry, with both walk-in and scheduled appointments. The Health Center at Auraria has a diverse patient base with varying levels of clinical complexity.

This position is full-time on site (1.0 FTE).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluations for staff/faculty/students with psychiatric and/or substance use diagnoses

  • Provide psychiatric medication management follow-up

  • Preform psychiatric crisis evaluations. Determine appropriate level of care, develop safety plan, refer to higher level of care if indicated, initiate M1 hold if appropriate

  • Refer to and coordinate with specialists within the community if indicated

  • Order appropriate laboratory monitoring for medication management, diagnostic clarification

  • Serve as a consulting member of MSU Denver, UC Denver or Community College of Denver CARE/BIT (Behavioral Intervention Team)

  • Collaborate with The Health Center at Auraria integrated medical care providers including primary care, women's health and a registered dietitian

  • Coordinate care with campus therapists and case managers, off-campus therapists, psychiatric providers (if patient is hospitalized, in PHP or IOP)

  • Provide mental health education to students/staff/faculty through written information, presentations

  • Serve as clinical preceptor to university students

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver, CO - Auraria Campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Instructor:

  • 0-3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • NP/APN degree

  • Colorado Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with PMHNP-BC or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

  • RXN in the State of Colorado with active DEA certificate license OR eligibility to obtain upon hire with no restrictions

  • ANCC or equivalent board certification to any qualifications.

Sr. Instructor:

  • 3 plus years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • NP/APN degree

  • Colorado Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with PMHNP-BC or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

  • RXN in the State of Colorado with active DEA certificate license OR eligibility to obtain upon hire with no restrictions

  • ANCC or equivalent board certification to any qualifications.

Track:

This role aligns with the Clinical Practice Track with a principal focus on direct patient care or program leadership. This role is not eligible for Tenure. Learn more about faculty tracks at the Offices for the Faculty Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of clinical practice

  • Experience working with populations that have experienced domestic abuse, sexual trauma, or related women's health

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of clients, faculty, staff and students.

  • Needs to work well in a collaborative environment

  • Knowledge, experience, and ability to manage complex information and computer systems.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Instructor: $130,000-$145,000

Sr. Instructor: $140,000-$150,010

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
