The Marketing Content Intern is responsible for maintaining the website, updating all owned and shared channels and brand content assets, and assisting with in-park events. This position is also responsible for assisting Sales & Marketing leadership with a variety of marketing duties as they relate to Adventureland.

We are currently looking for a:

Adventureland Park- Sales & Marketing Intern- Content

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Produce content for and oversee all Social Media channels forAdventureland

  • Lead and complete special projectsand initiativesrelated to marketing, sales, and content creation

  • Leverageonlineplatforms to increase awareness and engage fans  

  • Designeffective and creative media, including in-park signage and website, email, social, print assets, and other content

  • Ensure Park brand and voice consistency across all channels 

  • Assist Customer Director with facilitating B2C and B2B/sales email campaigns

  • Collect, analyze, and report on guest demographic information and coupon and promotion revenues on a weekly basis andidentifytrends

  • Assistwithall direct guest communication on owned and shared channels (social media, email, and website) to maximize return on special promotions and sales throughout the complex

  • Maintain and regularly update theAdventurelandwebsite, regularly reviewing for accuracy and working with internal departments to generate content 

  • Maintain composure and a high degree of professionalism when handling and/or responding to negative feedback

  • Help manage direct guest communication on owned and shared channels (social media, email, and website) to maximize return on special promotions and sales throughout the resort  

  • Assistwith the park’s email marketing strategies to ensure that relevant and revenue-generating content is delivered on time and on-brand

  • All other duties assigned by leadership

Education and Experience:

  • Currently majoring in (or graduated with) with aBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related discipline 

  • At least six months ofpreviouswork or internship experience in the areas of content, social media, or digital marketing

  • Previousexperience creating content for at least one other brand entity

  • Previousamusement park, theme park, or waterpark experience a plus

Language:Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements:  

  • Must be atleast 18 years of age tocomply withIowaChildLabor Laws

  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Mustpossessexceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations, meet the demands of constantdeadlinesand coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to write content in a clear,conciseand professional manner

  • Ability to directly engage with customers and other web media resources 

  • Ability to effectively respond to negative online (or in-person) feedback without taking it personally or conveying negative emotion

  • Mustpossesstechnical knowledge of HTML and web publishing. 

  • Previousknowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics.

  • Good photography skills would be a plus

  • Mustpossessstrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of ateamas well as independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, while using a computer

  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet forlong periodsof time throughout the day

  • Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat,or reach above shoulders

  • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 20pounds or more

Working Conditions:

  • This role will be based in an office setting with frequent interaction with other outdoor park locations

  • Frequent exposure to thevariable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

  • Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitivemotion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments
