Quality Inspector – Must-Have Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong blueprint reading skills
  • Proficiency with GD&T
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment
  • Ability to perform layout inspections
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted

Quality Inspector – Position Summary

A leading aerospace manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team. This position will perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure precision-manufactured aerospace components meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

The Quality Inspector will play an important role in maintaining product quality throughout the manufacturing process, identifying nonconforming products, documenting inspection results, and working directly with manufacturing personnel to resolve quality issues.

Quality Inspector – Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on aerospace components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Apply GD&T principles when inspecting manufactured parts
  • Use precision measuring equipment and standard inspection tools
  • Perform layout inspections as required
  • Determine product acceptance or rejection based on applicable specifications
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records
  • Identify, document, and control nonconforming products
  • Enter inspection and job-related information into JobBOSS
  • Prioritize inspection workload to support production schedules
  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel to investigate and resolve nonconformance issues
  • Help identify quality concerns early to prevent production delays
  • Follow established quality procedures and aerospace manufacturing standards

Quality Inspector – Additional Qualifications

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working under an AS9100 quality management system preferred
  • Experience with an effective calibration system preferred
  • NDT Level I, II, or III certification in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection is preferred but not required
  • Weld Inspector certification is preferred but not required
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while performing inspections
  • Ability to move throughout the manufacturing facility to perform inspections
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
