With over $5 billion in revenue and almost 20,000 employees in 600 offices throughout North America, HUB has grown substantially, in part due to our industry leading success in mergers and acquisitions.

About the Position:

The successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience as a commercial real estate attorney, with a particular focus on commercial leases. This is an exciting and challenging position that will allow you to grow as a professional and eventually lead a small, internal commercial real estate support team.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Interface with and advise all business groups, including leasing, construction, risk management, tax and finance teams on legal and contractual matters effecting the portfolio.
  • Manage a team of Transactional Attorneys and Paralegals.
  • Oversee and directly resolve landlord and tenant disputes.
  • Support the review and negotiation of real estate related services agreements pertaining to architectural design, build-outs, furnishings, and related matters.
  • Review and supervise outside counsel and other legal service provider support of leasing matters.
  • Coordinate and direct the review, management and preparation of commercial leasing documentation and related due diligence of newly acquired companies (the company is currently averaging 70+ acquisitions per year); support closing and post-closing documentation and administration.
  • Effectively organize and maintain case and client files in conjunction with the real estate paralegal.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in a state bar.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as an attorney with commercial and transactional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading a team of legal professionals.
  • Willing to pitch in and support other transactional work for a growing legal department in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to problem solve, resolve, and close open issues and assist staff and colleagues with resolving issues that arise.
  • Skilled at meeting strict deadlines under significant time pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and client orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with various types of clients.
  • Fast thinker/quick learner.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively and independently, and balance conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly growing, and ever-changing company.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across varied organizational functions.
