Job Description
Farmers Insurance is offering a unique opportunity for a driven, entrepreneurial professional to acquire an existing agency and established book of business in Michigan.
This opportunity is ideal for an individual who is business-minded, motivated to lead, and interested in stepping directly into agency ownership with an existing client base. Rather than starting from scratch, this role provides the ability to transition into an operating business with infrastructure, customers, and revenue already in place.
This is not a traditional employment position. It is an opportunity to become a Farmers agency owner through the acquisition of an existing agency, subject to approval and applicable financial requirements.
Opportunity Overview:
- As an incoming agency owner, you will take over the day-to-day operations of an established Farmers agency. This includes managing client relationships, driving new business, and overseeing overall agency performance.
- You will have the ability to build upon an existing foundation while implementing your own growth strategies and leadership approach.
- Farmers provides training, support, and resources to help agency owners successfully transition and operate their business within the Farmers system.

- Compensation is based on agency performance and revenue, not a base salary

Responsibilities
- Manage and retain the existing book of business through strong customer relationships and service
- Generate new business through marketing, referrals, networking, and community involvement
- Oversee agency operations, including sales performance, customer service, and administrative functions
- Hire, train, and develop team members as needed
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, carrier policies, and industry regulations
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue through cross-selling and account rounding
- Maintain accurate records and manage agency performance metrics
- Active Michigan Property & Casualty license (required or willingness to obtain)
- Life, Accident & Health license (required or willingness to obtain)
- Prior experience in sales, business ownership, or insurance is strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage and grow a business
- Must meet Farmers Insurance eligibility and financial requirements for agency ownership
