The Agile SDLC Expert is a senior engineering governance and delivery leader responsible for institutionalizing Agile ways of working across banking product development teams. This role ensures end‑to‑end SDLC discipline, regulatory alignment, and predictable delivery across complex, multi‑team programs operating in Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid Agile models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Agile & SDLC Governance

  • Define, standardize, and continuously improve Agile SDLC frameworks (Scrum/Kanban/Scaled Agile) tailored to banking and regulatory environments.

  • Ensure consistent execution across requirements, design, development, testing, release, and post‑production support phases of SDLC.

  • Establish entry/exit criteria, quality gates, and definition of done (DoD) across teams.

  • Delivery Assurance

  • Drive predictable sprint and release outcomes across multiple product teams.

  • Monitor Engineering and delivery metrics (velocity, cycle time, defect leakage, release readiness) in scaled Agile development setup for large Engineering teams.

  • Identify systemic delivery risks early and drive corrective actions.

  • Stakeholder & Compliance Alignment

  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure Agile delivery aligns with banking controls, audit, and regulatory standards.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing SDLC evidence and traceability.

  • Coaching & Enablement

  • Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and teams on Agile best practices.

  • Enable teams to mature from execution‑focused to value‑driven delivery.

  • Promote continuous improvement via retrospectives, Kaizen initiatives, and maturity assessments.

  • Promotes usage of Gen AI tools within Product and Engineering Organization in a modern scaled Agile implementation.

  • Behavioral Expectations

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to senior engineering and product leadership.

  • Drives outcomes through influence rather than authority.

  • Demonstrates strong ownership, decisiveness, and risk‑based thinking.

  • Balances Agile flexibility with enterprise governance needs.

  • Is a continuous learner and helps adoption of modern, AI aided agile practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 10-16 years of experience in software/product engineering with strong Agile SDLC leadership exposure.
  • Deep hands‑on knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, hybrid Agile‑Waterfall delivery models.
  • Proven experience delivering banking or financial‑services products with strict compliance needs.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps integration, quality engineering, and release management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Exposure to other frameworks like Spotify and exposure to complex portfolio management, knowledge of Lean portfolio management is key as well as PMLC so we can bridge Product and Engineering flow.
  • Experience of continuous improvement and establishing maturity assessment framework for a large, complex Product Engineering Organisation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAFe Agilist / SAFe SPC, CSM, PMI‑ACP certifications

  • Also, any other agile frameworks and exposure to complex portfolio management

  • Experience working in large‑scale, multi‑vendor or distributed delivery models.

  • Exposure to modern banking platforms, APIs, and cloud‑native SDLCs.
