As our Agriculture Irrigation Technician / Equipment Operator, your electrical expertise is what keeps center pivot systems running and farmers’ growing seasons on track. From VFD drives and control systems to transformers and three-phase motors, you’ll work on the kind of challenges that actually demand your skills.This is a hands-on, field-first position where your electrical knowledge is front and center — backed by a team that invests in your certifications and trusts you to get the job done right.What You’ll EarnJourneyman:$31.00 – $36.00 per hour | Depending on experienceWithout Journeyman:$25.00 – $30.00 per hour | Depending on experienceWhat You’ll DoInstall, Diagnose & Repair
- Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair center pivot irrigation systems in the field
- Troubleshoot and resolve pivot functionality issues — mechanical, structural, and electrical
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control panels, wiring, and lighting systems
- Perform general electrical maintenance on facility and field equipment
- Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, electric motors, and other electrical components
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic equipment
- Maintain strong working knowledge of VFD and control systems and testing equipment
- Follow the National Electrical Code and applicable state and local building regulations
- Track time and materials on each project and complete accurate, timely repair reports
- Maintain vehicles, tools, inventory, and rolling stock in clean, operational condition
- Perform daily equipment maintenance — grease, fuel, and fluid level checks
- Inspect equipment for wear or irregularities and report findings to supervisor promptly
- Operate forklifts, telehandlers, skid steers, and other small equipment as needed
- Handle, fit, and install pipe and associated appurtenances as directed
- Load, unload, and backfill materials; support pipe crew operations
- Prepare work areas ahead of crew operations
- Deliver or retrieve equipment from active job sites as needed
- Provide professional, excellent customer service during all field interactions
- Support and conduct customer clinics and training sessions
- Follow all company safety rules, regulations, and state/federal standards at all times
- Participate in continuing education and training to develop skills and knowledge
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in electrical preferred
- Valid South Dakota driver’s license (CDL preferred, or willingness to obtain)
- SD Electrical License — apprentice level minimum, or willingness to obtain
- Reinke Plus certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Forklift and small equipment operation experience
- Knowledge of VFD and control systems a plus
- Strong self-motivation, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly and perform sustained physical, outdoor work
