The Contract Alarm Management Engineer will be the subject matter expert responsible for organizing the alarm system on a Client Experion System. The primary goal is to enhance operator effectiveness and process safety across and operating a major Client operating facility by implementing a comprehensive ISA-18.2. alarm management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Experion Platform Optimization: Configure and manage alarm settings within Experion system to ensure high-performance operator interfaces.
- Advanced Alarming Implementation: Deploy specialized Experion features such as Alarm Shelving, Dynamic Alarm Suppression, and Alarm Tracker to eliminate nuisance alerts during process upsets.
- O&G Regulatory Compliance: Lead rationalization projects to align site operations with API RP 1167 (Pipeline Alarm Management) and ISA-18.2 standards, ensuring "defense-in-depth" for fire and gas detection systems.
- Bad Actor Remediation: Use the Client Alarm Performance Optimizer to centrally assess system health, identify chattering alarms, and execute 80%+ reductions in overall alarm counts.
- Asset Integration: Coordinate alarm strategies across integrated systems, including Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), PLCs, tank monitoring, and SCADA architectures for pipelines.
- Performance Reporting: Generate weekly and monthly alarm analytics for all process units. Identify ?bad actor? alarms and track their lifecycle from identification through technical remediation.
