Summary:

This position provides educational services and support to Allied Health employees system wide in a specialty area of assignment. The Allied Health Education Specialist II functions at the advanced level as an educator, performance evaluator, clinical practitioner, consultant, collaborator and researcher, and works closely with leadership to identify and plan education based on specialty needs. Acts as QA/QC Coordinator for CDS Radiology. Type of Opportunity: Full time Job Exempt: Yes Job is based: Presbyterian Hospital Work Shift: Days (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

Expertise & Functions: Competent LevelLearns and applies skills and critical thinking related to these categories at the competent level; beginning basic preceptor in these categories

  • Educator
    • Conducts learning / performance needs for target audiences
    • Creates optimal, budget-conscious instructional design to achieve performance objectives
    • Integrates evidence-based data to instructional design and clinical mentorship/projects
    • Drives the implementation of educational content/program in collaboration with management and team members
    • Builds the approach, deployment, collection, analysis and reports educational program effectiveness
  • Performance evaluator
    • Builds and implements Levels 1-3 evaluation tools to measure satisfaction, learning, and transfer to performance based upon performance objectives
    • Partners with management to assess clinical performance gaps and build remediation action plans
  • Clinical Practitioner
    • Role models and coaches in the moment at the point of care
    • Performs at highest specialty standards
    • Incorporates evidence-based-practice to enhance practice
    • Leads clinical practice leaders (CPL) in partnership with management
  • Consultant/Collaborator
    • Works and mentors team members within Clinical Education team and management to accelerate clinical performance
    • Initiates and/or supports changes in practice through the clinical governance process
  • Researcher
    • Incorporates clinical evidence into practice
    • Partners to examine evidence-based research and analyze for relevance to specialty
    • Promise and CARES Commitment
    • Participates and role modeling
    • Specialty role focus: Applies advanced clinical skills and critical thinking related to specialty practice if assigned to a specialty area and area of assignment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent degree preferred within Allied Health specialty OR 5 years experience beyond entry level in Allied Health specialty, management, and/or education
  • Minimum Clinical Education Requirements
  • Brings current allied health specialty knowledge to role
  • Brings basic knowledge in educational processes
