Job Overview

Standby Personnel is seeking an experienced Ammonia Tech to monitor, maintain, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems and plant equipment. This Ammonia Tech role is ideal for a technician with strong refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. The Ammonia Tech position plays a critical role in plant safety, system performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You ll Do

The Ammonia Tech role includes the following duties:

Monitor and maintain ammonia and refrigeration systemsPerform preventive maintenance (PM) on freezers and equipmentTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration componentsDocument system readings and maintenance activitiesRepair leaks (water, hydraulic, ammonia, nitrogen)Follow GMPs, safety standards, and PPE requirementsSupport continuous improvement and plant safety initiatives

Requirements

3 5+ years industrial refrigeration experienceAbility to obtain or currently hold R.E.T.A. CertificationStrong understanding of Process Safety ManagementElectrical knowledge: 480/320v 3ph & 120vSkilled with automation controls, testing equipment, and troubleshootingAbility to work in hot, cold, and loud environmentsStrong communication and problem-solving skills
