Job Description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking 1 2 full-time Locum Anesthesiologists to join the hospital team for a facility in the Cedar Valley region, Iowa starting January/February 2026. The role focuses on providing anesthesia care across general, OB, and healthy pediatric cases in a busy OR setting. Candidates who can cover full-time are preferred, but providers available for at least two weeks per month will also be considered.
Dates / ScheduleStart Date: January February 2026
Schedule: Monday Friday, 6:30 AM 4:30 PM
Weekend Coverage: Call only (1st, 2nd, and 3rd call rotation; 1st call is called in 75% of the time)
Night Call: Every 3 4 days (7 days/week rotation)
Clinic: None
Practice Setting: Hospital-based; 6 physicians and 2 CRNAs on staff
Operating Rooms: 13 ORs
Department Volume: total cases per day
Supervision: Some
EMR: EPIC (transitioning May 2025)
Patient Population: Adults, OB, and healthy pediatric patients (mostly tonsils/adenoids)
Procedures / Services:
General anesthesia, including OB (with TOLAC) and pediatric cases
Conscious sedation (required)
No cardiac or neurosurgical cases
Core Duties:
Evaluate and monitor patients before and during surgery
Provide anesthesia care in OR and OB settings
Coordinate with surgical and nursing teams to ensure patient safety
Board Certification: Required (No Board-Eligible candidates)
Licensure: Active Iowa license or IMLC (must provide LOQ at submission)
Certifications: ACLS and COVID-19 vaccination Required
Experience: Clean malpractice record with no settled or pending cases Required
Availability: Minimum two weeks per month Required
Call Coverage: Must be willing to take night and weekend call
