Job Description

The Aera Crew Manager is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across Aerones’ US field operations by driving crew readiness, performance, safety, reporting quality, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

As a robotic wind turbine services provider, Aerones deploys mobile crews to customer wind farms on a project-by-project basis rather than staffing a single fixed site. This role is the operational link between Headquarters and those rotating field teams — ensuring crews are fully prepared before deployment, supported throughout project execution, and consistently performing to Aerones standards across every active project.

The Aera Crew Manager oversees workforce coordination, operational reporting, spare parts logistics, time and expense approvals, and field performance metrics while coaching Team Leads and technicians to improve quality, efficiency, and compliance.

During the high season, the role focuses on active operational support and field performance management across concurrent projects. During the low season, the emphasis shifts toward training, certification management, documentation updates, process improvements, and preparing crews for upcoming deployments.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in field operations, field service, construction, renewable energy, industrial services, or a similar field-based environment.
  • Experience leading, coordinating, or supporting field-based teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with Team Leads, technicians, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple crews, projects, schedules, and changing operational priorities.
  • Ability to coach employees, provide constructive feedback, address performance concerns, and hold teams accountable.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in fast-moving field environments.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to review operational reports, technician hours, expenses, project progress, and other field documentation for accuracy.
  • Comfortable using operational software, reporting systems, and other digital tools to manage field activities.
  • Understanding of workplace safety expectations and the ability to reinforce company HSE procedures and safe working practices.
  • Ability to work effectively across Operations, Project Management, HSE, Logistics, HR, Technical Support, and other departments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the United States to support field crews and active projects.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Flexibility to support field operations outside normal business hours when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in wind energy, renewable energy, construction, industrial services, or another technical field-service environment.
  • Previous experience leading or coordinating traveling field crews is a plus.
  • Wind turbine maintenance, inspection, repair, robotics, rope access, or similar technical experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with LOTO, PPE requirements, incident reporting, toolbox talks, and general field safety practices.
  • Experience training, coaching, or developing technicians or Team Leads is a plus.
  • GWO certifications or previous exposure to GWO requirements is beneficial.
  • Experience with MaintainX or similar field-management, inventory, timekeeping, expense, and operational reporting systems is helpful but not required.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment where priorities, crew assignments, and project schedules can change quickly.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed or traveling teams is a plus.

Travel Requirement

  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the United States up to 60% of the time to support field crews, active projects, training, and operational needs.
  • Company-provided lodging and $80 per day meal per diem while traveling for business.

Benefits
