Job Description

ARIS Administration, Scripting, Architecture & Technical Expert is an experienced individual contributor role within the Business Process Management & Enterprise Architecture Job Family. As part of the Professional career stream, this role focuses on administering, architecting, integrating, and optimizing the ARIS platform to support enterprise process management, governance, and digital transformation initiatives. The role requires deep technical expertise in ARIS architecture, scripting, APIs, integrations, and platform governance. Professionals at this level operate independently, provide technical leadership, mentor less experienced team members, and serve as subject matter experts for ARIS platform capabilities and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

ARIS Platform Administration & Support

  • Administer and maintain ARIS environments, including user management, permissions, repositories, databases, and system configuration.
  • Ensure platform stability, performance, availability, and compliance with enterprise IT standards.
  • Manage upgrades, patches, migrations, and environment refresh activities across development, test, and production environments.

ARIS Architecture & Solution Design

  • Design and maintain ARIS architecture aligned with business process management, governance, risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Define and implement platform standards, repository structures, conventions, templates, and governance frameworks.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture, process excellence, and IT teams to support strategic process management initiatives.

ARIS Scripting & Automation

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize ARIS reports, macros, scripts, and custom solutions using ARIS scripting capabilities.
  • Automate repository administration, quality checks, governance workflows, data validations, and reporting activities.
  • Create reusable technical components that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability of process management activities.

Integration & Technical Development

  • Design and implement integrations between ARIS and enterprise platforms using APIs, web services, databases, and other middleware technologies.
  • Support synchronization and data exchange with process mining, workflow, ERP, and analytics platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration, performance, and configuration issues.

Repository Governance & Quality Management

  • Establish and enforce modeling standards, method governance, naming conventions, and repository quality controls.
  • Develop automated validation and compliance checks to improve process model quality and consistency.
  • Monitor repository health and recommend improvements to drive process excellence maturity.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Advisory

  • Collaborate with process owners, business architects, enterprise architects, IT teams, and external vendors to deliver ARIS-enabled solutions.
  • Provide expert guidance on ARIS capabilities, technical feasibility, architecture decisions, and implementation approaches.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable ARIS solutions.

Technical Leadership & Knowledge Sharing

  • Mentor ARIS administrators, modelers, and junior technical resources on platform administration and development best practices.
  • Develop technical standards, documentation, training materials, and operational procedures.
  • Promote adoption of ARIS capabilities and share best practices across the organization.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay current with ARIS product roadmap, emerging BPM technologies, process mining, workflow automation, and AI-enabled process management capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance platform utilization, automate manual activities, and improve user experience.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen process governance, operational efficiency, and digital transformation outcomes.

Required Expertise

  • Deep expertise in ARIS Administration, ARIS Architect, ARIS Connect, ARIS Publisher, ARIS Aware, and ARIS Governance.
  • Strong knowledge of ARIS scripting, report development, macros, APIs, and integration frameworks.
  • Experience with repository management, BPM governance, process modeling standards, and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Knowledge of databases, SQL, web services, REST APIs, authentication mechanisms, and system integration concepts.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and technical communication skills.
