Job Description

Seeking an AR (Artist Relations) visionary with technical mastery, ready to scout and nurture the next generation of music talent, Serato is seeking a highly motivated Artist Relations Rep to support and execute our overall Artist Relations strategy from the Serato LA studio. This pivotal role requires balancing technical expertise across Serato music production tools and DJ software with exceptional relationship management skills.

A key part of this role is managing the Serato LA production studio, ensuring it becomes a central hub for innovation and the next generation of artists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Identification: Actively scout, engage, and recruit new and emerging talent into the brand, focusing on Music Producers, and DJs
  • Studio Operations: Take a lead role in overseeing the LA production studio, including gear, demos, schedule, and content, and ensuring a "Hospitality Mindset" to treat guests as VIPs.
  • Technical Support: Be an expert in, and provide high-quality technical support and troubleshooting for artists across all Serato products (DJ and Production)
  • Relationship Management: Foster ongoing relationships with key artists and community groups to support brand and business opportunities.
  • Marketing & Product Alignment: Collaborate across the marketing team to align artists with key initiatives and channel valuable artist insights back to the Product team.
  • Community & Events: Host workshops to bring more artists and communities into Serato's ecosystem (Music Production primary), and represent Serato at key events and conferences.
  • Content Creation: Create and be featured in Serato content from time to time, and assist with photo and film shoots.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Industry Experience: 3-5 years or more relevant industry experience in an Artist Relations, Talent Management, or similar role within the music, technology, or entertainment industries.
  • 'AR' Instinct:
    • Cultural Fluency: A deep, "obsessive" knowledge of current music production trends and the emerging artists/collectives in the scene, and in LA.
    • Existing Network: An active roster of local producers and engineers in Los Angeles.
  • Technical Mastery: High level competency in both Serato Production Tools (including the ability to demonstrate Serato Studio inside out) and Serato DJ software/hardware.
  • Studio Coordination: Experience in a recording studio or creative space, including managing bookings, basic tech troubleshooting, and maintaining a desirable "vibe".
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently in LA while staying highly communicative with management in NYC and the team in NZ (a "proactive updater").
  • Presentation: Experience with public speaking and in-person presentations, such as hosting workshops or presenting product features.
  • Content Awareness: An eye for "moments" that would make great social content, with the skillset to create short and long-form content.
