Job TITLE: Area Sales Manager - Richmond

OBJECTIVE: To oversee the development of the Richmond VA sales team while successfully growing the sales and distribution of the product portfolio.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise and direct assigned Sales Representatives and Merchandisers to ensure the greatest possible sales and distribution of products, ensure market share growth, and maintain morale and motivation.
• Develop rapport with assigned customer base and promote the good will of the Company, including direct relationships with key buyers and district managers through time spent at the account level
• Maintain outstanding supplier relationships for all Specialty brands in the territory
• Work with the Sales Reps and supplier partners to implement and execute the marketing strategies of the Company, including regular account level promotions and occasional special events within the territory
• Execute and track monthly sales goals as related to the sales team's PFP and incentive programs
• Provide route coverage where necessary
• Recruitment, selection, and training of the sales force
• Demonstrate a high-level of aptitude for beer industry and beer product knowledge, as well as strict observance and compliance to all laws and regulations governing the sale of alcoholic beverages
• Direct Sales Rep and Merchandiser teams to ensure all product is sold within its shelf life and administered in a way that grows total company business
• Ensure proper merchandising of accounts with permanent and paper POS
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, marketing, sales or management
• 2-4 years experience in consumer package goods sales
• 1-2 year previous management experience
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Certified Beer Server
• Proficient computer and technology skills
• Valid and clean driver's license with active auto insurance
• Proven leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
