Job Details

Job Details / Responsibilities:

Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents to determine project scope and requirementsPerform detailed quantity takeoffs for asphalt paving, milling, reclamation, grading, aggregate base, and related roadway and site improvement activitiesPrepare accurate and competitive cost estimates including labor, equipment, materials, trucking, subcontractors, and indirect project costsDevelop conceptual, budgetary, negotiated, and hard bid estimatesAnalyze project risks, opportunities, exclusions, and constructability concerns during the asphalt estimating processEvaluate production rates, crew requirements, equipment utilization, and material quantities to develop accurate pricingAnalyze historical project data and production information to improve estimate accuracy and consistency

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of asphalt estimating, paving, grading, or roadway construction experiencePrevious experience with asphalt paving operations, materials, and production methods preferredAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and technical documentsStrong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
