Description:
The Asphalt/Paving Maintenance Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising a crew engaged in asphalt and pavement maintenance projects. This includes planning, coordinating, and overseeing tasks such as pothole repair, crack sealing, milling, resurfacing, and striping to ensure high-quality work and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Communicate job details and expectations to the crew.
- Assign tasks based on job requirements and crew capabilities.
- Operate asphalt paving equipment, including pavers, screeds, rollers, skid steers, and backhoes.
- Oversee and perform manual labor, including shoveling, raking, and using hand tools.
- Ensure job sites are clean, safe, and properly prepared.
- Monitor and enforce safety regulations and jobsite signage.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Track production schedules, worker hours, and material usage.
- Maintain equipment, including operation, cleaning, and transport.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Superintendents.
- Document and report daily jobsite activities, including personnel, materials, and production data.
- Manage jobsite logistics, including inventory and material requisition.
- Facilitate crew meetings, safety briefings, and on-the-job training.
- Address and resolve crew issues to maintain morale and productivity.
- Assist with traffic control, signage placement, and job site organization.
- Represent the company at industry meetings and events.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
