Assembly Mechanic - Fuselage

JOB SUMMARY: Assembly Mechanic - Fuselage perform advanced assembly, installation, inspection, and testing of structural and system components in a manufacturing environment. This senior-level role requires working from engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards to ensure precision, compliance, and timely delivery. The position also involves providing technical leadership, supporting production flow, and ensuring high-quality output across assembly operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assemble, install, seal, rig, and inspect structural and system components Perform functional testing to ensure fit, form, and function of assemblies Interpret and work from prints, charts, sketches, and technical documents Use precision measuring tools and test instruments for inspection and validation Utilize tooling and equipment to assemble sub-assemblies and end items Verify all work meets engineering specifications and quality requirements Identify and document discrepancies and non-conforming conditions Ensure equipment and tools are properly certified as per procedures Perform routine machine maintenance (filters, lubrication, coolant levels, etc.) Move products within the manufacturing area and complete required system transactions Adhere to production schedules and deadlines Support production flow by training and assisting team members Assist in training personnel on assembly, installation, and inspection techniques Cross-train in inspection processes and maintain required certifications (SIA) Perform complete inspections including first article review of parts and assemblies Initiate and document issues for Material Review Board (MRB) actions Conduct process surveillance to ensure compliance with standards Prepare and maintain quality records and documentation Setup and operate CNC and conventional fastening equipment (e.g., MTGRs, Brotje, C-Frames, IPAC) Provide technical leadership and support in assembly and installation processes REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 11+ years of experience in structures or sheet metal work Strong expertise in assembly, installation, and inspection processes Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Experience with precision measurement tools and quality inspection techniques Ability to pass required plate test Willingness to work any assigned shift, including overtime and weekends Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards Ability to lead, train, and support team members Immediate availability to join PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with CNC fastening equipment and advanced assembly tools Expertise in multiple specialties such as door assembly, integral fuel cell sealing, precision bench assembly, or pressure/vacuum testing Prior experience in quality inspection, MRB processes, and compliance documentation Education: High School or equivalent
