Job Description

Ginop Sales is seeking a full-time Assembly Technician for our Williamsburg, MI branch. This hands-on role is responsible for assembling, inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and testing heavy equipment and related components. The ideal candidate will have basic mechanical aptitude, enjoy working with tools and equipment, and take pride in delivering high-quality work.

Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and work instructions required for assembly and repair tasks.Assemble products, equipment, and components to specification using hand and power tools.Check inventory and ensure required materials and parts are available prior to assembly or repair.Complete equipment inspections during and after assembly, maintenance, or repair.Remove and install parts and components as required.Implement optional accessories and equipment upgrades.Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on heavy equipment.Conduct basic diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.Test equipment and components to verify proper functionality and quality standards.Perform quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.Perform other duties as assigned.Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance, including being ready for work at the designated start time.Must be willing to work Saturdays on a rotational basis.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.Construction, automotive mechanics, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or related mechanical experience preferred.Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of engine, powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.Manual dexterity and the ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Must possess own tools.Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high energy.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Previous ERP experience is a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.

Language Skills- Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills- Basic: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability- Intermediate: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands; Frequently will talk/hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; Occasionally will sit.

Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 25 pounds; Frequently will lift 26 to 50 pounds; Occasionally will lift from 51 to 100 plus pounds.

Work Environment: Regularly will work near moving mechanical parts; Frequently will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions; Occasionally will work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, vibration.
