Job Summary: The Assistant Girls Basketball Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the high school girls basketball program. The assistant coach helps supervise athletes during practices, games, and team activities while ensuring compliance with school, district, and athletic association policies.

Qualifications:

Employment as a teacher or coach with a valid Iowa Coaching certificate or coaching endorsement
Demonstratedinterestinandaptitudeforperformingthetaskslisted

RequirementsIncludeButNotLimitedTo:

Instruct participants in the fundamental skill,strategy,and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self- discipline, self-confidence, and self-esteem
Cooperateandcommunicatewithparents
Promoteallactivitiesin the schoolprogramattempting tofosterschoolspirit
Showaninterestinathletesinoff-seasonactivitiesandclassroomefforts
File completed inventory with the Activity Director within two weeks after the completion of the season
Followpropertransportationprocedures
Assumeresponsibilityforneatnessoffacilitiesandcooperationwithcustodians
Displayenthusiasmandexhibitinterest in theschool'sactivityprogram
Establishthefundamentalphilosophy,skills,andtechniquesto betaught
Bewell versedandknowledgeable inmatterspertainingtothe sport
Bepromptandorganizedconcerningpractice/contests
Be innovative enusing new coaching technique and ideas in addition to sound, already proven methods of coaching
Provideleadershipandattitudesthatproducepositiveattitudesandresults
