Where You'll Work
Hybrid: This role is based in Philadelphia PA, or Raleigh NC, and we're looking for someone within a reasonable commuting distance, who can join us in the office at least 6 days a month for collaboration and connection.
Why this Role Matters
The Assistant Controller is a key leader within the controllership function, partnering with the VP, Controller and senior leadership to deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and ensure GAAP compliance. This role drives the close process, leads technical accounting initiatives, and builds a high-performing team to support scalable, efficient operations in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Deliver
Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements that enable confident business decisions
Ensure full compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and audit standards across all reporting and documentation
Lead and optimize the close process, improving speed, accuracy, and consistency across the organization
Drive technical accounting initiatives across complex areas including revenue recognition, business combinations, and intercompany accounting
Strengthen accounting policies, controls, and procedures to support scalable growth
Identify and implement system and process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce risk
Partner with leadership to provide insights, forecasts, and financial analysis that guide strategic planning
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous growth

What You'll Bring
Must-haves:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance field, Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred
10+ years' experience in accounting or related field
CPA certification required
Prior experience with one of the Big Four public accounting firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG) is required
Technologically competent: NetSuite and other SaaS based reporting (Salesforce, AI-driven solutions), other operational tools
Self-starter attitude that originates and develops constructive, creative ideas
Proven expertise in GAAP technical accounting, regulations, practices and standards
Experience in preparation and analysis of finance reports, budgeting, and forecasting
3+ years leadership experience
Nice-to-Haves:
5+ years leadership experience
International exposure and experience working in a global environment
ASC 606 / 805 / 718 / 842 - Mostly covered by Josh, new Rev Mgr, Sabrina
Experience in merger/acquisition due diligence, valuation/PPA accounting, and integration preferred

Pay Transparency for New Jersey and New York Applicants:
The base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $185,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and other relevant qualifications. This role is also eligible to participate in a company bonus plan.
In addition to base salary, Litera offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, and incentive and recognition programs. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
