Job Description

Position Summary

The Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management & Student Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the College's enrollment functions, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounts, and the Welcome Center. This position ensures alignment across enrollment services to create a seamless, student-centered experience from recruitment through enrollment and completion.

Reporting to the Vice President for Student Success, the Assistant Dean leads enrollment strategy, improves operational effectiveness, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates with campus partners to support student access, retention, and success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Enrollment Management Leadership

Provide leadership and direction for comprehensive enrollment operations, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounts, and the Welcome Center.

Develop and implement enrollment strategies that support recruitment, enrollment growth, retention, and completion goals.

Monitor enrollment trends, service effectiveness, and operational data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.

Coordinate enrollment processes across departments to improve student experience and remove barriers to enrollment.

Perform other duties as assigned

Financial Aid/Student Accounts

Serve as the College's Director of Financial Aid and provide oversight of all financial aid operations.

Ensure compliance with federal Title IV regulations, New York State financial aid requirements, SUNY policies, and institutional procedures.

Oversee administration of federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid programs.

Manage financial aid policies, procedures, audits, reporting requirements, verification, satisfactory academic progress, professional judgment, and regulatory compliance.

Develop strategies to improve FAFSA completion, financial aid communication, and student access to available resources.

Provide leadership for Student Accounts operations, including billing, payment processes, refunds, account holds, and student financial communications.

Collaborate with Financial Aid and Business Office partners to support timely and accurate student account services.

Admissions & Recruitment

Provide leadership for Admissions operations and recruitment strategies.

Support enrollment initiatives for prospective students, adult learners, veterans, dual enrollment students, and workforce populations.

Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to enhance recruitment outreach and enrollment conversion.

Records &Registration

Provide oversight of Registrar operations, including registration, records management, degree completion processes, transcripts, graduation, and enrollment reporting.

Ensure compliance with FERPA and institutional reporting requirements.

Collaborate with Academic Affairs to support accurate academic records and student progression.

Welcome Center

Provide oversight of the Welcome Center as the primary entry point for student services and campus navigation.

Ensure a welcoming, accessible, and coordinated experience for prospective students, current students, families, and visitors.

Develop service standards and cross-training opportunities to support a one-stop enrollment experience.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum five years of progressive experience in enrollment management, financial aid, admissions, registrar, student accounts, or related higher education administration.

Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid regulations, enrollment operations, and student service delivery.

Experience supervising staff and managing complex administrative operations.

Experience working within the State University of New York (SUNY) system, including familiarity with SUNY policies, procedures, reporting requirements, and student success initiatives.

Salary and Benefit Information

The anticipated salary for this position is $80,000 annually. Compensation will be based on the selected candidate's relevant experience, education, and technical expertise. The College offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental insurance, short-and long-term disability, generous vacation, and sick leave, paid holidays, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, tax-deferred compensation, as well as employee and dependent tuition waivers.
