Job Description

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Director to create engaging, revenue-generating video content for the Florida Gators Baseball program, as well as other sports as assigned, with a primary emphasis on social and digital platforms, including Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) initiatives. Working collaboratively with the Creative Services team, sport coaches and staff, and the Marketing, Communications, and Social Media teams, this role supports athletic programs and student-athletes through dynamic, platform-optimized storytelling. Works closely with the athlete marketing and NIL Director to develop personalized assets for social media, promotional use, and branding opportunities, ensuring each athlete’s image aligns with both personal goals and Florida Gators standards. Responsibilities include editing and producing highlight videos, promotional and hype content, video board assets, social-first creative, and NIL-related content that elevates student-athlete brands while adhering to institutional and brand standards.

This position requires the incumbent to have strong video editing skills; be knowledgeable of social media trends, pacing, and digital storytelling; have strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills; be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and creative; work independently and as part of a collaborative team; multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment; engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds; and work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Telecommunications, Broadcasting, or a related field*
  • Two years of related work experience*
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience with a large variety of cameras
  • Experience editing with non-linear software, including Adobe Production Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and After Effects

*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of listed requirement.
