Job Function

Actively manage application/software development projects, minimize risk, and ensure that projects are delivered within scope, cost and timing.  Assist in coordinating intake and gathering business needs for future projects.  Comply with IT project management governance and ePMO processes that coordinate and communicate requirements, milestones, resource allocations, status, final deliverables, and post-production support. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and ability to utilize Waterfall, Scrum, or Kanban project management and software delivery frameworks depending on the effort and/or development team. Ability to apply the proper project management framework, metrics and reporting.
  • Collaboration with the Product Manager, development team and other parties to define the necessary tasks/activities and work effort to build a plan for solution delivery including key milestones, understanding of critical path and dependencies. Ensuring the plan encompasses all required governance processes and activities.
  • Actively manage IT projects to deliver agreed upon specifications on time and on budget, managing the intersection of scope, cost and timing. Ensure risks and issues are tracked and managed appropriately, including escalation when necessary.
  • Provide continuous, transparent project reporting to keep IT and business stakeholders apprised of progress and issues, including any deviations from plan and associated mitigation.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with all project participants (e.g. internal IT staff and contract resources, internal sponsors and business partners, vendors).
  • Foster positive and productive team communication and collaboration and effectively manage conflict. Provide coaching to the team to foster continuous improvement.
  • Regular status meetings with development teams, project sponsors and business partners.
  • Comply with current IT PMO governance processes, policies and support systems to ensure department and company-wide success. Assist in refining/improving the IT PMO governance processes.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Active Project Management certification preferred (e.g., Project Management Professional, Product Owner, ScrumMaster or similar project management certification, or equivalent).
  • 2-4 years demonstrated experience in project management for Application/Software Development and delivery required, 6+ years preferred.
  • Business analyst experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects using Waterfall, Agile (Scrum/Kanban), and Hybrid methodologies, with the ability to tailor approach based on risk, complexity, and team maturity
  • Excellent communication, analytical, time management, organizational change management and project planning skills required.
  • Strong record of project management success in results achieved and in use of professional methodology.
  • Experience in IT governance, risk management, and resource allocation. 
  • Experience using enterprise project and work management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, MS Project, Jira, Asana, etc.) to support planning, reporting, and governance.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demands.
  • High level of proficiency with project management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, MS Project, Jira, Asana, etc.). 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically. 
  • Experience with stakeholder management, including executive-level, timely communication.
  • Travel Required ​
  • This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Current work environment is hybrid; 2 days in the office and 3 days are remote.
