If this sounds outstanding to you, take the first step forward and explore a career with Dal-Tile.The Assistant Manager SSC is a first-level manager responsible for training, leading, coaching, and guiding the performance of associates to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day activities. This role also develops and retains effective working relationships with customers and focuses on driving product sales.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching to employees in the areas of customer service, order management, purchasing, warehouse duties, office administration, truck management, and system processes.
  • May perform a variety of customer service, warehouse, and office administration duties as necessary.
  • Assist with developing business relationships with key customers within the store coverage area.
  • Advise customers on product selection, pricing, and sales volume and continues to build customer relations.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding staff performance evaluations.
  • Responsible for the overall operations concerning freight, shrink, margins, and overtime.
  • Address and resolve operational issues, conflicts, and challenges that may arise within the team.
  • Ensure associates follow standard safety procedures to comply with corporate safety program standards.
  • May assume management responsibilities in the absence of the Manager.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 6-8 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of management experience.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
  • A high degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
Other Pertinent Job Information:
  • This role will be responsible for direct reports.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
