Job Description
The School of Arts & Sciences at Mount St. Joseph University invites applications for a full-time (nine-month), tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology position, beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will teach in our undergraduate Biology and Biomedical Sciences programs and potentially in the University's graduate Physician Assistant program. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in undergraduate anatomy and physiology and/or graduate-level gross anatomy. Candidates with cadaver-based gross anatomy experience or who are willing to train in that area will be given preference. Additional courses in the candidate's specialization are also welcomed, particularly in the areas of developmental biology, musculoskeletal anatomy, neuroscience, and/or forensic science. Other duties include advising, mentoring undergraduate research, and supporting departmental and university needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching undergraduate courses in anatomy and physiology, musculoskeletal anatomy, and/or undergraduate and graduate courses in gross anatomy.
- Advising and mentoring undergraduate students.
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Providing service to the department, university, and professional community.
- Engaging in scholarly activities and maintaining active involvement in professional organizations.
- Fulfilling other duties as assigned to support the mission of the School of Arts & Sciences and the university.
